Yesterday we went ashore to play with another kid boat called Rainbow Safari!! There was this giant rock that had a whole cave behind it, so Niki (9 years), Robby (5 years) and I (11 years) all went exploring behind it. We found a lot of treasure troves full of (sadly) trash and lots of pieces of coral!! Then we walked all the way over the rocks at the end of the smaller island. We found a cave in between two large stones that led far back in a narrow tunnel. We didn’t have time to explore it, because we were going on a hike!
We went to this trail that led to an immense balancing rock called Sail Rock. On the path was a massive monitor lizard that quickly scampered away. The way up was really awesome, because it led through the jungle and past large rocks that I had to resist climbing. The only downside was that there were a lot of wooden stairs and paths leading over cracks in the rock. The cracks made me sort of nervous, and so did the staircase that felt like it would snap below your feet at any moment 😬!
The amazing view and a friendly reminder... |
At the top of the trail we were on a tall hill next to the balancing rock. Mom noticed teeny sticks wedged under the rock.
“Those hold it up!” she said jokingly. That made me nervous too😣. Thanks, Mom! All of the other people had vertigo except for me 🙂. If I did, I think there would be a bucketload of vomit heading down the hillside!
We finally made it! Mom didn't want to get too close to the edge! |
